. >> kristin fisher is live along rehoboth beach, delaware to look at the conditions there so far how are we doing, kristin. >> reporter: doing pretty well. good morning to you all from the atlantic sands hotel on rehoboth beach. we started to feel the begins of a hurricane here i'd say maybe 12 hours ago. it increased throughout the night. now we're really starting to feel it. but the amazing thing here is we're going to feel these kinds of winds, see this weather and it's going to get so much worse and it's going to continue for 36 more hours. this hurricane is still 350 miles off shore, the center of it at least. as you stand here, we see these conditions that have been going on for so long. it's mind boggling to think that we're only at the very beginning of n. i know it's really dark out here, folks, tough to see, but the surf has been kicking up hard all night long. we've got about 14-foot waves right now. they have been pounding. my hotel room is right on the beach. they've been loud all night long. wind gusts increasing throughout the night. the hotel is very secure. this hote

. >> kristin fisher is live with more on the current conditions. for you it's just going downhill so far. >> reporter: and going downhill very quickly. a level two travel advisory has just been issued for rehoboth beach, dewey beach, all of the beaches along this part of the delaware coast. what that means is that nobody except for essential personnel are allowed to be driving on these roadways. for the most part it seems that so far people are taking that advisory to heart. i want to show you why this travel advisory has been implemented so early into this hurricane. take a look at this video that our photographer shot about two hours ago on the north side of rehoboth beach, the bay side. check out how much water he is driving through. folks, you still have about 36 hours to go, 36 more hours of solid rain, rising tides, heavier winds. it is just going to get so much worse. a little bit earlier before the travel advisory was implemented, we saw some folks trying to take some pictures, even get out into the surf as bryce harper would say. there pro

you saw kristin fisher. she's in a little bit of a lull she said but there's going to be more bands of rain developing as this thing gets closer and closer to the coast. one of the heaviest bands is coming right across the chesapeake, right across d.c. and points to the east. here's the story on sandy. 8:00 advisory winds 85 gusting to 105. the motion north, north west at 20. it has started to take that left turn toward the coast. winds are stirl going to get -- still going to get a little stronger, maybe 90 winds at 2:00. we'll probably maintain that. it could possibly strengthen before making landfall just south of atlantic city at about maybe 10:00, 11:00 tonight. hurricane force winds will precede this by several hours along coastal areas. tropical storm force winds are likely to be here later starting this afternoon from east to west. by 2:00 tomorrow, how long is the storm going to last? still 60 mile an hour winds around the center near gettysburg, harrisburg, somewhere in that vicinity. that's still
